On October 2, Mays High School hosted a major blood drive organized by the school's HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) chapter, bringing together students and staff to support a powerful cause.
HOSA members played a crucial role throughout the event, managing check-in stations and ensuring the safety and comfort of every donor. Members ensured that all students who donated received snacks and drank plenty of water beforehand, an important step in the recovery process after giving blood.
A special shoutout goes to HOSA advisor Ms. Cole and all the dedicated HOSA members who made this event possible. From planning and promotion to day-of coordination, their hard work and commitment to serving others shone through.
The students and staff who volunteered their time managed everything from registration to the refreshment area, creating a welcoming and organized atmosphere for all donors.
As the saying goes, "Give blood and you can save three lives." This simple act of donation can make an enormous difference for patients in need. Every pint of blood donated can help trauma victims, surgical patients, cancer patients, and those with chronic illnesses.

The October 2 blood drive demonstrated the Mays community's commitment to helping others and making a real difference in people's lives. Thank You Thank you to Ms. Cole, all HOSA members, and every student and staff member who donated blood or volunteered their time. Your generosity and service truly embody what it means to be a Raider.
